Cameron MacKenzie was an undergraduate student at Notre Dame majoring in biology and applied mathematics. His research focus was modeling fragile X syndrome (FXS) with human patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cell models. He is particularly interested in investigating the synaptic and physiological deficits present in FXS human neurons and astrocytes derived from iPSCs. His research has been funded in part by the Hesburgh-Yusko Scholarship Program and the Center for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
